Microsoft Ignite represents the company’s yearly gathering for developers and IT experts where the latest updates on Copilot, Windows, Microsoft 365, and Azure are shared, affecting many of Microsoft’s largest clients. The spotlight at Microsoft Ignite 2023 was on AI, a trend that is set to continue this year.
The Verge will report on all updates from Microsoft Ignite. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is set to commence the primary keynote at 9 AM ET / 6 AM PT on November 19th. The address will be available via livestream on Microsoft’s website and will be followed by various sessions and in-depth analyses of key announcements from the event.

Microsoft’s leader for Experiences & Devices, Rajesh Jha, recently announced a curious modification to Microsoft 365 at Ignite.
“In the coming months, we will transition the Microsoft 365 app icon to match the new Microsoft 365 Copilot design,” Jha explained. This new icon will replicate the Copilot design, replacing the current blue and purple Microsoft 365 icon. Microsoft has been facing challenges with its Copilot branding lately.
The purpose of Azure AI Foundry is to assist organizations in managing their AI resources. According to Microsoft’s blog:

Meta has been enhancing the Windows VR experience with its Quest headsets recently, and Microsoft has announced that full Windows 11 functionalities will be accessible to the Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S starting in December. Users will have the capability to create a large, multi-monitor workspace using Quest 3 headsets in public preview next month.
Details on the availability of Windows Volumetric Apps are still awaited.
An enhanced Windows search will allow users to find documents, images, and various files just by describing them, even while offline. This new AI-powered search feature is slated to be available to Windows Insiders on Copilot Plus PCs early next year.
Microsoft plans to unveil a specially designed compact PC for its Windows 365 cloud service in the upcoming year. The Windows 365 Link will cost $349 and functions as a thin client PC that connects to the cloud to stream a Windows 11 experience.
The Link device is crafted to be a compact, fanless, and user-friendly cloud PC compatible with local monitors and peripherals. It is intended to perfectly complement Microsoft’s Windows 365 service, which enables businesses to transition employees to cloud-based virtual machines that can be accessed securely from multiple devices.

Microsoft is launching Places, a new app designed to coordinate in-office days with coworkers, widely available today. Microsoft Places utilizes AI and a specific location planning feature that allows users to set and share their office attendance dates while viewing which days colleagues will be present. Microsoft intends to sync this with Copilot in the near future as well.
